MY NYC: FAVORITES + PERSONALIZATION HUB

NYCgo.com is the official guide for travelers and locals seeking information and inspiration for exploring the five boroughs of New York City. In 2019, we launched a trip-planning experience called My Famous Original New York City (”My NYC”). While enabling users to build a profile and save favorites sitewide, this personalization hub enabled us to meet travelers where they were in their trip-planning cycle, deliver content and recommendations tailored to their interests, and follow up with targeted CRM campaigns to keep them engaged.

On the default Recommended tab, users see the latest featured content and are invited to select interests to generate recommendations.

On the Profile tab, users can indicate trip status and update their interests to get the most relevant recommendations.

After a user indicates their trip-planning status and/or interests, their Recommended page is populated with the most timely and relevant recommendations, all of which can be easily added to their favorites. (Please note the +Itinerary button was previously +Favorites in alignment with sitewide nomenclature; the above is from a newer version of the page, which is evolving to integrate with a new itinerary-building experience.)
